Fast friendship

While we were swimming in the ocean one day on our recent trip to Puerto Rico, a little boy came up to hubby who was holding our baby. He seemed to be craving interaction with a father figure, and my wonderful hubby seems to attract such boys. The little boy had on snorkeling gear and began swimming in circles around my husband saying ‘Watch this! Watch this!” Hubby obliged and watched him, making comments like, “Wow, that’s neat.” Another boy swam over to the first and asked with wonder, “Is that your daddy?” “No,” replied the first boy, “but he’s my friend now!” I was reminded what great impressions a few small acts of kindness can leave on another.
