As we are loading Bug-a-Boo into his carseat: “His carseat smells like poop.” “Hmm. It smells fine up here.”
Once we got to the park and were loading him into his stoller: “Uh, honey, there’s something all over the back of his pants.” “Doh – I guess it wasn’t his carseat that smelled!”
Later: “Here Bug-a-Boo. Look at this acorn!” Pop – into the mouth it goes. “Uh – oops. That’s yucky.” (unsaid – and a choking hazard!) “Let’s try something else. How about if we show daddy how Grandma taught you to roll down the hill?” Splat – that would be the sound of him rolling into the slightly dried out pile the dog left.
What can we do but laugh? Some days with a one year old are just like that.
